Experience
Malcolm has 28 years’ insurance industry experience across South Africa, the UK, and Australia, with deep non-life insurance experience.
Prior to joining Milliman earlier this year, he was a partner at KPMG for 11 years, heading up and growing the actuarial team, where he led a wide range of non-life, capital and ERM engagements. His earlier career included capital and risk management at Munich Re in Sydney and managing a non-life reserving team at ACE in London.
His technical expertise includes:
- Leading first-line actuarial valuation teams, covering diverse classes of business, including IFRS and SAM/Solvency regulatory reporting
- Supporting the development of risk management frameworks, both preparation and independent review of ORSA reports and scenario modelling
- Acting as Head of Actuarial function reporting support and independent review
- Providing due-diligence/M&A actuarial support
- Providing board and regulator training on actuarial valuation, solvency reporting, risk appetite, and risk management
