Milliman South Africa
Our offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town service clients across Sub-Saharan Africa in our core areas of risk and capital management, financial reporting, product development and new market entry. We provide actuarial and risk consulting services to a wide range of insurers, micro insurers, asset managers and other financial services players. We also fulfil the role of head of actuarial function and head of risk function for several insurers.
As part of Milliman, we combine the expertise of our local offices with that of our colleagues across the world to provide truly global consulting solutions for our clients. We help our clients prepare for operations in new markets, deal with regulatory change and understand how their relevant industries are affected by developments around the world.
Despite our impressive growth over the past seven decades, we still operate according to the guiding principles of our founders, Wendell Milliman and Stuart Robertson. We retain their rigorous standards of professional excellence, peer review and objectivity. We remain committed to developing innovative tools and products and providing expert solutions. Founded in 1947, we are an independent risk management, benefits and technology firm with offices in major cities around the globe. We serve the full spectrum of business, financial, government, union, education, and nonprofit organizations.
Since our inception, objectivity and professional excellence have been our hallmarks. We are independently owned and managed by our principals, who are distinguished by their technical and business acumen, and by their achievements in their respective fields. Our body of professionals includes actuaries, technologists, clinicians, economists, climate and data scientists, benefits and compensation experts, and many others. Over the past 75 years, as the nature of risk has evolved, so has the scope of our work. Today, we are helping clients address some of the world’s most profound social and business challenges, including a looming retirement crisis, an evolving healthcare landscape, and the effects of climate change and a global pandemic.
